What is Cipralex (Escitalopram)
Escitalopram, sold under the trademark name Cipralex to name a few, is an antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. It is generally used in the treatment of anxiety and generalized stress and anxiety disorders. It must be started at lower doses and gradually increased. You shouldn't stop taking this medication unexpectedly as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like mood changes, irritability, dizziness, pins and needles in the feet or hands, and difficulty in going to sleep. It is administered orally.
Typical adverse effects consist of problem sleeping, queasiness, sexual issues, and feeling tired. More major side effects may include suicide in individuals under the age of 25.
