Uses

This medicine is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), erosive esophagitis, or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Lansoprazole may also be used to treat ulcers due to long-term use of certain pain/anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). This medicine works by blocking acid production in the stomach.   • atazanavir (Reyataz);

  • iron (Feosol, Mol-Iron, Fergon, Femiron, others);
  • ketoconazole (Nizoral);
  • methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall);
  • theophylline (such as Elixophyllin, Respbid, Slo-Bid, Theobid, Theoclear, Theo-Dur, Uniphyl);
  • a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven); or
  • a diuretic (water pill).

This list is not complete and other drugs may interact with Generic Prevacid.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Storage

Store at room temperature (77 degrees F or 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
